Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of Waterloo! We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are passionate about making the Cedar Valley and the world a better place for children. We are devoted to serving the children in our community through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.
Giving back to help children in Waterloo. The Kiwanis Club of Waterloo was founded in 1920, we have been helping children in the Cedar Valley for over 100 years!
What is Kiwanis?
Here is a quick video that explains what Kiwanis is.
Our shelter participants are in URGENT need of basic living supplies — especially TOWELS.
Because we shelter individuals in temporary shelter sites across 12 different counties, we’re able to support people where they are rather than asking them to travel to us. This model helps us meet people in their moment of crisis, but it also brings new challenges. Many participants arrive with almost nothing after fleeing crisis situations. We can provide safe shelter, but they still need basic items for daily living.
Your generosity makes this possible. If you’re able, please donate the supplies listed — your support goes directly to individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Donations can be dropped off at our Waterloo office (1009 People's Square) Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm. You can also donate monetary donations via our website or Venmo (@friendsofthefamily).
