You are invited to the high school students your organization serves to Marching Against The Darkness’s 5th Annual Excellence Expo on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, 225 Commercial Street, Waterloo.
This free experience is open to students in grades 9–12 and connects them with education, career, and personal-development opportunities as they prepare for life after high school.
This year, we’re expanding access: the Expo will take place during the school day, capacity is increasing to 300 students, and free bus transportation will be available to and from participating Waterloo high schools and the Waterloo Career Center. Lunch and all student programming are also free.
Students will explore a College & Career Fair, participate in skills seminars focused on leadership, finances, confidence and career readiness, and experience hands-on performing arts workshops in dance, step, color guard, and percussion.
At MATD, we believe young people cannot pursue opportunities they do not know exist. Your organization can help put those opportunities in front of students by sharing this invitation with youth and families and encouraging them to register.
Please help interested students register by Wednesday, October 21st: Student Registration
Registration is required and limited to 300 students. The event flyer is attached as well. Thank you for helping us reconnect youth to their excellence! Have a phenomenal day! ... See MoreSee Less
