Charter Scout Troops
For 115 years, Scouting America has helped young people grow into well-rounded, capable adults. Youth are given opportunities to participate in a wide variety of experiences and learning opportunities while enjoying adventures indoors and out. As part of our motto, Serving the Children of the World, the Kiwanis Club of Waterloo is proud to be a Charter Partner with Scouting America for two troops serving youth with disabilities. Troop 99B and Troop 99G were formed in 2024 to serve youth in the Cedar Valley and surrounding communities. Troop leaders are experienced in working with children with disabilities. The Troops meet once a week to learn and practice their Scouting skills while developing their leadership skills. We’d like to thank Allen College for their generosity in providing a meeting place for the Troops.
Scouts are encouraged and challenged to advance through the ranks of Scouting, from Tenderfoot to Eagle at their own pace while learning leadership skills and teamwork. Our Troops are always welcoming new members. If you know a child (age 11 – 17) who is interested in becoming a Scout, please contact our partner, Winnebago Council, at 319-234-2867.

As part of our bowling tournament sponsorship drive, we will be the "designated charity" for Sept 10 at the Cedar Falls Applebee's restaurant. Here are the details if you can participate:
1. For anyone who dines at the Cedar Falls Applebee's restaurant (at College Square on University Ave) on Wednesday, Sept 10, and mentions the Waterloo Kiwanis Club fundraiser to your server, we will receive 25% of your meal cost as a donation from Applebee's. 2. To get this donation, you MUST either show your server the attached flyer, or simply mention the Waterloo Kiwanis Club fundraiser to your server. 3. We are not permitted to solicit or pass out flyers at or near the restaurant, so the only way we will benefit is by word of mouth or otherwise spreading the word. So, please pass this info on to your family and friends as you see fit. Please consider this opportunity, especially if you plan to be dining out anyway or if you like Applebee's restaurant.
We appreciate your support of our club in this way! ... See MoreSee Less
